Entertainment Weekly managed to score an exclusive clip from Joe Bego’s (Almost Human) horror The Mind’s Eye which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, you can check it and more out past the break!
Filmmaker Joe Begos’ 2014 alien-monster movie Almost Human was one of the most impressive horror debuts of recent times. His follow-up is The Mind’s Eye, in which Almost Human star Graham Skipper plays a character with telekinetic powers called Zack who captures the attention of the mysterious Dr. Slovak (John Speredakos), a telekinesis expert with ambiguous intentions. After uncovering Slovak¹s nefarious plot to empower himself using a telekinesis-enabling serum harvested from the blood of his “patients,” Zack must stop Slovak and rescue his fellow telekinetic Rachel (Lauren Ashley Carter from Jug Face and Pod).
Begos’ new film features a cast heavy with actors who have appeared in other, recent impressive genre films, including indie-horror director Larry Fessenden, Jeremy Gardner from The Battery, Contracted franchise veteran Matt Mercer, Almost Human monster Josh Ethier (who also edited both of Begos’ films), Carter’s Pod costar Brian Morvant, and the always watchable Noah Segan, who can be seen in the out-this-week slasher film, Some Kind of Hate.
The Mind’s Eye will receive its world premiere Tuesday at midnight at the Toronto International Film Festival.
You can see an extremely action-packed — and, ultimately, extremely gory — clip featuring Skipper and Morvant, below.
